when i was little, i would entertain myself in the "castles" i made out of kitchen chairs and ratty old blankets with the silken edges wearing off.

i would often fall asleep in my warm pillow-floored fort after playing for hours on end.

i miss being small.

I remember doing the same thing! It was wonderful to create an imaginary world inside those tents. This is such a sweet drawing...it brings back the best memories:>

mm, i agree with carla, this brought back memories for me too...sweet memories of staying home sick from school and resting in a fort made of blankets draped over the kitchen table and chairs with blankets and pillows underneath. i kinda think we don't need to be small to do this, i may do it again real soon.

Very cute illo. It captures one of the magical childhood moments so perfectly.

wonderful...i love to watch my children do this because their smiles are just as big as the one you've drawn!

I love the innocence in your illo. AS for me and my sister, we always hide under the bed. :)

Very sweet. As boy-child though, I had a fort and would conduct large scale battles with in the confines of the bedspread.

totally reminds me of when i was a kid. Except I'd put a blanket over beach chairs out in the yard and try to spend the night in my "tent". Living out in the middle of nowhere led to creepy noises from the woods at night....and I never quite stayed out that long!
